you are mastering this art. would suggest you be spotted in mags like 3dart or juxtapoze. the wintery scene speaks to me.. but one small critique- could not the back ground be filled with trees in depth in stead of 3 + flat?

thanks very much

I'm not sure about 3dart, I couldn't google it, but as for juxtapoz it seems to me they are more in favor of traditional arts, not digital.

Flat background sometimes is essential for easiness of viewing and clearness of 2D pattern. With only trees on the background that would be quite a mess, though it's possible no doubts about that.

Nice one.
Good use of subtle texture mapping and contouring.
It is hardly detectable in the flat image, but adds significantly to the 3D result.

thank you, this combo is a really way to go. I still like pure MTS which is not that hidden but very 3D and gives the best details.

Yeah, I prefer it to still be mostly hidden.
It's my opinion that if you're going to have it clearly visible due to heavy MTS you may as well just make stereo pairs instead.

that's right, stereopair is a partial case of MTS with only 2 repetitions.

thank you, the poster was ment to be as hidden as possible, though without the eyes in the pattern it wouldn't look as nice.

yay, these are my favorites :) These you-cant-figure-out-what-it-is-by-the-pattern types. The eyes are well placed, yet don't give it away

thank you, the style you like is called Hidden Image Stereogram (HIS) and the eyes made using Mapped Texture (MTS). You can also notice contours. So it's always combo of HIS, MTS and Contour, blended together in different proportions.
