Contour Dragon Stereogram by 3Dimka Contour Dragon Stereogram by 3Dimka
I really like contour technique in Stereograms. It's quite rare and I haven't seen anyone else ever made Contour MTS. Also it's not very obvious what's hidden, is it?

BTW, you can order 19"x13" print of this stereogram on eBay

stillt his contour thing is rare yes, i like it, gives it some kind of old school feel to it like tron, green monochrome and all that.... interesting... might have to take your program for a testdrive just to see more of these

look at so many comments. Wyvern seen good. Background excellent too. Time for me to start uploading more stereograms to deviant art. Have to make a couple for Project T5x first.

Thank you for comments Dirk, I'll be watching you for new stereograms. But keep in mind I am an honest critic ;)

Honest is the best policy, plus I know my flaws in the stereograms I create, i need others to see it to. Plus, this is my style, big model, empty space in bkground, nice background with image rendered.

Thank you! But I insist you to join 3D-Stereograms group at [link]
You may need to create yahoo mail account, but it's not a big deal.

If you post your stereograms there you'll be getting comments from the best stereogram artists like Gene Levine, Gary W Priester, Carlos Contreros.

Another awesome one, as usual. I noticed thought that the wings weren't transparent. :( I like when you do transparency. :D

transparency effect is difficult to create though he idea is very simple. You blend 2 separate stereograms together, one with all objects and another without ones which should be transparent. Each stereogram should have own pattern in order the effect to work. Playing with patterns and blending option may take hours to get noticeable and recognizable effect.

I don't suppose you have published a book of stereograms yet?

Well one of my works is already published. I don't think new Stereogram book would be profitable, the fad has gone already ;)

Nice work as always, 3dimka! So simple stylistically, yet very beautiful! You have some wonderful techniques.

Did you create this contour technique?

Take care.

Yes, I made this technique up. Actually it's very similar to MTS (Mapped textured Stereogram) except the contour texture is mapped, so there`s nothing really to be proud of :)
Also there were other contour stereograms by different artists but those are Object Arrays with no hidden image. BTW, I already tried contour technique in this work - [link]

Well, that's a very neat technique. So, it is something you can and should be proud of. Not everyone can say that they've come up with something new.

I'm familiar with that other contour stereogram...it was one of your first works that I came across.

thanks and you're right, it's the 2nd contour stereogram, but the 1s one is not true contour work, it's rather MTS, though it looks like a contour one - [link]

Thanks very much, there's lot of amazing things yet hidden in stereograms but very few scientists reserch them. Magic Eye is just a fun riddle though it can be a powerful style for an artist too.

This is a really cool one. If you just look at it, it's like "oh, lines. Then you see the dragon- way cool! One thing though- when you're looking at the dragon, I caught a weird random dot hovering above the shoulder. It could just be an un-deleted thing or something I just don't get. Am I nuts?
